Through Law 346, the Organic Law of the Public Ministry is created as an independent institution, with organic, functional and administrative autonomy, which is responsible for the prosecution and representation of the interests of the Company and of the Victim of crime in the criminal process, through the Attorney General of the Republic, which will only be subordinate to the Political Constitution of the Republic and laws.
On December 4, 2001, through Law No. 411, the “Organic Law of the Attorney General's Office” was born, which ceases to be called the Attorney General's Office and is separated from the Public Ministry, both having functional independence.
This is in charge of the legal representation of the State of the Republic of Nicaragua, in what concerns the interests and matters that this Law determines, with specific advisory and consultation functions of the organs and state entities, its opinions shall be mandatory compliance within the organs of the Executive Branch.
