The Ministry of Health and Wellness, Jamaica (MOH) is the primary government entity whose responsibility is to ensure the delivery of quality health services and to enhance the quality of life and environmental practices.
The Ministry, along with its Regional Health Authorities, Agencies and affiliated institutions, are in charge of health care delivery throughout the island. It envisions a client-centered health system that ensures access to high-quality health care for all members of the community at reasonable rates, while also taking into account the needs of the most vulnerable people.
It also attempts to enlighten and educate the public in order to assist people to take responsibility for their own health, make intelligent decisions and embrace healthy lifestyle practices.
