Mission
They are the Institution that supports the Minister in the exercise of the rector of the Transportation Sector; responsible for regulating and controlling transportation, as well as executing transport infrastructure works, safe and efficient, with the aim of contributing to economic and social growth in harmony with the environment.

Their proposal of value to the administered ones is based on opportune decisions, productivity and transparency in the management, with the purpose of improving the competitiveness of the country and with it the quality of life of its inhabitants.

Vision
Be the Authority that leads the implementation of the National Transportation Plan 2011-2035, which is the meeting point of all public institutions, as well as the economic and social agents involved in its implementation; recognized by those administered as the Institution that contributes to the development of the country; all in congruence with the vision pursued by the Government of the Republic through the National Development Plan.

Overall objective
Provide the country with the required transport infrastructure and ensure the proper operation of the Transportation System.

Institutional Strategic Objectives

1. Improve the transitability to increase the socioeconomic development of the country, in coordination with the entities responsible for the attention of the Road Network.
2. Reduce the impact of natural disasters caused by flooding in high-risk riverbeds to the road infrastructure and nearby affected populations through fluvial protection works.
3. Improve the road network of the country, completing the road infrastructure of the project that begins in National Route No. 4 in the town of Bajos de Chilamate, ending at the intersection of National Route No. 4 with National Route No. 751 , in order to comply with the provisions of the memorandum of understanding of the Puebla Panama Plan.
4. Strengthen the exercise of the stewardship of the Minister of the maritime subsector.
5. Achieve that all the infrastructure that regulates or in which the Ministry participates, complies with the quality standards that it has for each type of work, as well as that have the means to care for the disabled population, ensure the safety of the user and contemplate the prevention of disasters, always looking for a balance with the environment.
6. Provide the roads of the country with road signs and the appropriate regulation and control devices, for greater fluidity and road safety.
7. Achieve that the response time does not exceed the average time of the previous year, in the attention of traffic accidents in the Greater Metropolitan Area.
8. To take advantage of and develop in the organization scientific and technological capacities to carry out research and legal analysis on the matter under its competence, in such a way that it adds value to the relationship with the Court's recurring and users, in terms of the dissemination of services, accurate communication and accessibility of the information relevant to them.

Permanent Institutional Objectives

1. Dictate the policies and guidelines for the Infrastructure and Transport Sector to provide an adequate service to the user, in accordance with the availability of resources and the requirements of the country.
2. Ensure that the infrastructure and transport systems and services are efficient and safe, in economic, environmental and social terms.
3. Orient the resources of the Infrastructure and Transport Sector to the established programs and plans.
4. Modernize the Institutions of the Sector and its legal framework.
