Mission

As stipulated by the decree signed by the President of the Republic, SONATREL will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, development of public electricity transmission networks throughout Cameroon, as well as management. energy flows that pass through it. As such, it will have to: ensure the maintenance, renewal and compliance of electricity transmission works throughout the national territory; ensure that the assumptions underlying the development of the development plan for transmission works are consistent with the multi-year programming of power generation investments; ensure the connection and access to the public electricity transmission network of any authorized person who so requests, in compliance with applicable regulatory and technical requirements; ensure the balance and stability of the electrical system.
