Jirama is a common law corporation wholly owned by the Malagasy State. It is headed by a Board of Directors to which the Director General responds. He is appointed by the Ministry of Energy.
The Board of Directors is made up of state representatives - including line ministries - and employee representatives. The organization of the Jirama reflects its two major activities that are water and electricity. The company is also deploying a geographical organization made up of interregional directorates in each of the six provinces of Madagascar.
