Ministerio de Educacion Publica de Costa Rica is a government body attached to the executive branch of the Republic of Costa Rica that is in charge of ensuring high quality education throughout the national territory.
The Ministry of Education is responsible for the formulation of the Fundamental Law on Education as well as the Legal & Philosophical Frameworks. MOE has various departments to which different functions and missions are assigned. For example, the Department of Organizational Development of the Directorate of Management and Regional Development, promotes the organizational development of the Regional Directorates of Education (DRE) through the continuous improvement of their culture and organizational climate and their planning as well as the implementation of measures to prevent conflicts in public educational institutions. MOE is constantly developing various guidelines to contribute to the social development of Costa Rican youth. Some of these include guidelines for a comprehensive approach to vulnerable populations and the risk of educational exclusion, as well as a return guide featuring socio-emotional and educational support when returning to a face-to-face meeting. MOE is also responsible for accrediting and overseeing private/public educational centres from pre-school to diversified education.
MOE deals with Public Administration, Education, Policy Framework, Research, Training, Social & Cultural Development, Student Rights, Study Programs Management, etc.
