We are the Ministry that coordinates macroeconomic policy; define, formulate and execute the country's fiscal policy; it affects the economic, governmental and political sectors; and manages the public resources of the Nation, from a budgetary and financial perspective, through transparent actions, competent personnel and efficient processes, in order to promote: The conditions for sustainable economic growth, and the stability and soundness of the economy and the economy. Finance system; for the strengthening of institutions, support for decentralization and social welfare of citizens.

Vision

In 2022, we will be the Ministry that contributes to equity through a sustainable economy that generates quality employment, and through the contribution to the recovery of long-term economic growth, fiscal sustainability and the strengthening of national public financial management and territorial, being an Entity that harmonizes its strategies and processes with good practices and national and international standards.

General objective

Define, formulate and execute the country's economic policy, general plans, programs and projects related to it, as well as the preparation of laws, and decrees; the regulation, in fiscal, tax, customs, public, budgetary, treasury, cooperative, financial, exchange, monetary and credit matters, without prejudice to the powers conferred on the Board of Directors of the Bank of the Republic and those exercised, through agencies attached or linked to the exercise of activities that correspond to the intervention of the state, in financial, stock market, insurance and any other activities related to the management, use and investment of public savings resources and the national treasury , in accordance with the Political Constitution and the Law.
