The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) is a Caribbean Community organization that was founded in 1972 by an agreement amongst the Caribbean Community's participating governments.
CXC ensures the Caribbean's global human resource competitiveness by providing high-quality syllabuses, valid and reliable evaluations and certificates of international repute for students of all ages, skills and interests as well as services to academic institutions in the development of syllabuses, examinations and examination management in the most budget-friendly manner.
The CXC members are selected from the region's 16 nations as well as the two universities in the area, the University of Guyana and the University of the West Indies. The Council has the authority to control the conduct of such examinations as well as to establish the qualifying criteria for applicants and the fees they must pay.
