Description
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is a global agency devoted to saving lives, preserving rights, and ensuring a brighter future for refugees, internally displaced persons, and stateless people. In line with its activity in Yemen, UNHCR works on improving qualitative and quantitative protection monitoring at the household and community level by strengthening its staff and partners’ capacity and it is heavily involved in the prevention of and response to gender-based violence including case identification and management. UNHCR Yemen also addresses socioeconomic vulnerability by giving monetary support and housing, beds, blankets, sleeping mats, cooking sets, buckets, and other items to people who have been displaced or are the most vulnerable.
