The Ministry of Equipment, Transport and Opening up develops and implements the national policy in the field of infrastructures and Transport. As such, it exercises the following powers in particular:
The development and implementation of measures to ensure the internal and external opening up of the country;
The design, construction and maintenance of roads, engineering structures, rails, airfields and river ports;
The development and control of the application of rules in the fields of topography and cartography;
The development of meteorology and its various applications;
Research and experimentation in the field of public works;
The development of land, sea, river and air transport;
The development and implementation of traffic and road safety rules.
