The Government of the Republic of Moldova launched the process of e-Transformation of governance in August 2010, with the creation of the Electronic Governance Center, a public institution under the State Chancellery, with the aim of improving governance through the intensive application of information technologies.
On May 8, 2018, as a result of measures to consolidate data centers in the public sector and to rationalize the administration of information systems by the Government, the name of the public institution "Electronic Government Center (E-Government)" was changed to the Institution publishes the "Electronic Government Agency.
The Agency's team is made up of professionals who come with a systemic approach to modernize public services and bring government closer to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. The projects managed by the Electronic Government Agency in the e-Transformation of Government and Modernization of public services segments are implemented with the support of the World Bank.
