The government authority responsible for youth and sports has the task, within the framework of the laws and regulations in force, of formulating and implementing government policy in the field of youth and sports, the protection of childhood and the advancement of women. To this end, it is responsible for the following missions:
Develop socio-educational programs capable of ensuring the organization, supervision and protection of youth, children and women;
Improve and generalize the associative action of youth and childhood in order to guarantee the protection of youth and their integration into society;
Develop activities relating to regional and international cooperation in the field of youth and childhood;
Establish studies and research likely to promote and contribute to the development of youth, childhood and women;
Assist and develop regional policy in the field of youth, children and women;
Develop a policy on the development and popularization of sports, coordinate and control all sports activities at the national level;
Raise awareness of the importance of sports in the national economy and encourage economic actors to contribute to its development;
Prepare drafts of legislative and regulatory texts in the field of youth and sports;
Manage, maintain and control the assets and establishments under the authority of the Ministry of Youth and Sports;
Manage and improve the income, expenses, aid and all the resources granted with a view to developing sports and youth establishments;
Administer and control the operation of sports infrastructures, youth establishments and medico-sports facilities;
Encourage the policy of collaboration and cooperation in the sports field at the national and international levels;
Guarantee the participation of national selections in international sports competitions in coordination with the National Olympic Commission and sports federations.
The General Inspection is responsible for:
Inspect, control and manage the central and regional administration of the MJS
Ensure the proper application of legislative texts concerning the management of public money
Improve ministry productivity and efficiency
Performance management in relation to objectives and costs.
Ensure compliance with procedures
Strengthening ethics
Interact directly with the mediator
Cooperate with the Court of Auditors, the IGF and the anti-corruption authority
Ensure the updating of inventories of heritage and property of the MJS
Carry out ad hoc and specific missions at the request of the Minister
Advise the Minister in terms of operational strategy
Advise the Minister in terms of organization and efficiency of the structure
Advise the Minister in terms of setting up structuring projects and new business processes
