The Ministry of Social Affairs, Humanitarian Action and Solidarity implements the nation's policy as defined by the President of the Republic in matters of social action, humanitarian action and solidarity. In accordance with decree N ° 2009-335 of October 13, 2009, relating to the attributions of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Humanitarian Action and Solidarity, the latter is responsible in particular for:

To initiate national plans and strategies in the fields of its competence and ensure their application;
To orient, coordinate and control the activities of the services and organizations placed or its supervision;
To initiate and evaluate global and specific policies and strategies in terms of national solidarity for the benefit of vulnerable populations;
To promote the national policy of prevention, management and rehabilitation in the field of humanitarian action;
