Băcia (Bácsi in Hungarian, Schäferdorf in German) is a commune located in Hunedoara County, Transylvania in Romania which has four mmunities - Băcia, Petreni (Petrény), Tâmpa (Tompa) and Totia (Nagytóti).
Whilst the commune's economy is mostly based on agriculture, an important part of the economy of the commune is occupied by companies from different economic sectors such as railway transport, freight transport, industrial constructions, wood processing, building materials, tourism through motels in the village of Băcia and Casa Groza, leather garments, a monthly fair and an annual fair, Balţata Romaneasca, a logistics center and a protein flour factory.
