Description

Ministerie van Defensie is a government body formed in 1813 as the “Ministry of War” in the Hague, Netherlands. Its main purpose is to prevent war, conflict and injustice.

The Ministry of Defence consists of seven organisational units – Central Staff, four Armed Forces Services (Royal Navy, Royal Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Marechaussee) and the Joint Support Command & Defence Material Organization that work to ensure peace, freedom and security both in the Netherlands and abroad. When conflicts cannot be resolved diplomatically, the Armed Forces take action and apply force. The Netherlands Armed Forces employs over 500 operators on overseas missions as a result of Dutch military personnel contributing to stability and security throughout the world. The MOD has three main tasks – defending national and allied territories, enforcing national and international rule of law and providing assistance during disasters and crises. Its day-to-day tasks include monitoring airspace and borders, clearing explosives and performing coastguard duties as well as helping to track and identify criminal networks. The Armed Forces work closely with municipal authorities, judicial authorities, the police, fire services and the Public Prosecution Service during crisis situations.

MOD is specialized in National Security, Peace, Defence, Human Rights, Democracy, Social Development, Diplomacy, Military Actions, Border Controls, Airspace, Cyber Security, Education &Training, etc.
