The Department of Health and Human Services was an Australian government department prior to being divided into the Department of Health (DoH) and the Department of Families, Fairness, and Housing (DFFH). The new DoH is responsible for public health, aging, mental health and ambulance services while the DFFH is responsible for child protection, housing and disability. Both divisions focus on enabling individuals to make decisions that promote excellent physical and mental health while also ensuring they remain linked to their culture and community.
