Abia is a Nigerian state located in the southeast of the country whose capital is Umuahia and whose largest commercial city is Aba which was once a British colonial administration outpost and is now one of Nigeria's most populous areas.
One of the Niger Delta region's constituent states, the Abia State Government is the highest governmental authority in the state and is made up of three sectors – the executive, which is led by the governor, the legislative and the judicial. The Executive is responsible for overseeing the state's daily administration and law execution and also includes the Secretary of State's office and twenty-three Commissioners.
