WWF's work in Paraguay began in the mid-1990s with the development of a Biodiversity Vision for the Upper Paraná Atlantic Forest, a tri-national vision developed by Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. In 2000, WWF established a Project Office in Paraguay, which later became a Country Office. During these years, WWF's work has spread from the Atlantic Forest to the entire country, working on different issues.
WWF-Paraguay is part of the WWF Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Program, being part of the Southern Cone of the South of the Amazon (SASC).
