The Chile Ministry of Agriculture is the government agency responsible for promoting, directing, and coordinating the country's agricultural and forestry activities. The Ministry's objective is to move the industry toward a competitive, sustainable, creative, and contemporary agri-food and forestry sector dedicated to regional and rural development and to eliminate social inequality by improving and broadening the reach of development tools, focusing on small-scale and family farming.
The Ministry is also responsible for contributing to agricultural value creation which includes promoting a rural economy based on technology and innovation and advancing the elements that maximize agricultural productivity and competition, namely the quality, safety, and efficiency of farming products.
