Central American Bank for Economic Integration /Banco Centroamericano de Integracion Economica (El Salvador)
The Central American regional economic integration process began on December 13th, 1960 with the signing of the General Treaty on Central America Economic Integration, which included the establishment of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration.
CABEI has become the financial arm for the integration and development of Central America, a unique institution, given its founding objectives and principles, as well as the ample scope of its operations.
From 1960 to the present CABEI, has been led by visionary professionals who have guided the Bank in achieving its original objectives.
The Bank’s objective shall be to promote the economic integration and the balanced economic and social development of the Central American region, which includes the founding countries and the non-founding regional countries, attending and aligning itself with the interests of all of its member countries.
