Description
The Bureau of Water, Irrigation and Energy Development was established as the Bureau of Water, Minerals and Energy Resources Development in accordance with Proclamation No. 4/1988 of the Amhara National Regional State Council. The Maine and Energy Sector was then separated from the Water Bureau and in 1997 it was renamed Water Resources Development Bureau by Proclamation No. 99/1997. After that, it remained in place until 2008 EC, in accordance with Proclamation No. 230/2008 issued by the Regional State Council in 2008 EC amended by the Amhara Regional State Executive Proclamation.
