The Minnesota Agricultural Education Leadership Council
Established in 1997 by the Minnesota Legislature, MAELC is comprised of sixteen educators, legislators, government officials, and agribusiness and community organization representatives. The Council represents all of the major institutions and groups in Minnesota with an interest in agricultural education and serves as a focal point for initiatives to improve agricultural education in the state.
Our Mission
MAELC provides leadership to promote and expand agricultural education in Minnesota.
Guiding Principles
Minnesota is stronger when people understand the importance of agriculture.
It is important for agricultural education to serve both youth and adults.
Our Primary Purposes
Foster new ideas and curricula
Encourage people to enter or remain in the agricultural education profession
Provide a venue to look at the "big picture" of agricultural education in Minnesota
Serve as an information network - providing answers to agricultural education questions and inquiries
