The origins of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces (CCFFAA) go back to the 1950s when the General Staffs of the military institutions studied the experiences of the operational use of forces during World War II, highlighting the need for the Armed Forces of Peru have a permanent joint organization, that is, a command unit that, in the planning of operations and execution of any armed conflict, finds the cohesion of all the military, air, and naval resources of the nation.
Mission-"Plan, prepare, coordinate and conduct military operations and actions to guarantee the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and support the national development of Peru."
