The National Agency for Dams and Transfers ( ANBT ), created as a public Algerian administrative establishment in 1985 by Decree No. 85-163 , is a public establishment of an industrial and commercial nature 1 .
The ANBT is responsible for mobilizing water resources to ensure drinking water supply and irrigation. To this end, it controls and monitors water retention works and transfer systems aimed at maintaining a continuous supply. The Agency also provides studies, particularly on exploitable water reserves and water quality 1 .
