Description
The Central Bank is invested with the following fundamental missions:
- define and implement monetary policy within WAMU;
- ensure the stability of the WAMU banking and financial system;
- promote the proper functioning and ensure the supervision and security of payment systems in WAMU;
- implement the WAMU foreign exchange policy under the conditions set by the Council of Ministers;
- manage the official foreign exchange reserves of WAMU member states.
