On the basis of the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria and in implementation of the laws, the Minister:
1. interacts with the judiciary and the executive;
2. supervise the activity of drafting laws and regulations related to the judicial system and activities that fall within its powers, as well as drafting opinions on draft laws and drafts prepared by other central executive bodies;
3. participate in organizing the qualifications of judges, prosecutors and investigators;
4. manage the property of the judiciary;
5. submit a draft budget of the judiciary and submit it for discussion to the Supreme Judicial Council;
6. conducts management and control of the activity on the protection of the bodies of the judiciary;
7. performs activities related to the state and private bailiffs, notaries, registrars and trustees;
8. manage the preparation of draft international treaties in the legal field and control their implementation;
9. represents the Republic of Bulgaria at the meetings of the Council of the European Union in the format "Justice and Home Affairs" in the part "Justice";
10. supervise and control the preparation of materials within its competence that are presented to the institutions of the European Union;
11. coordinates the activities of all bodies and institutions in the Republic of Bulgaria on issues related to the Cooperation and Evaluation Mechanism;
12. Conducts dialogue with the European Commission, with ministers, with the authorities and institutions of the Member States and others on the Cooperation and Evaluation Mechanism through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
13. manage the Interagency Coordination Team for the implementation of benchmarks established by the European Commission Decision of 13 December 2006 on the implementation of the Cooperation and Evaluation Mechanism, as well as the recommendations set out in the regular reports of the European Commission, on the progress of the Republic of Bulgaria on the Cooperation and Evaluation Mechanism;
14. manage and supervise the activities of the European Commission's expert missions for assessing the country's progress;
15. manage the drafting activity and submit for consideration by the Council of Ministers draft acts adopting measures at national level necessary for the implementation and implementation of European Union acts in the areas within its competence;
16. implements international legal cooperation and international legal assistance in matters within its competence;
17. Delivers an opinion, agrees, or disagrees, on behalf of the Republic of Bulgaria, when requested, on the admission of other States to members of international bodies and organizations or to the accession of States to international instruments, when the Ministry of Justice is designated for a central body by virtue of the constituent acts of international bodies or organizations or by the provisions of international acts;
