Description
On May 1, 1910, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry was founded in the building of De Surinaamsche Bank NV in Paramaribo. At that time, the Chamber was not founded on a legal basis and could be seen more as an interest group for a few large private companies. The House is now the legal representative and advocate of the business community in its entirety, being the counterpart of the Trias Politica.
