The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is the organization of the Swiss government responsible for carrying out Swiss development cooperation initiatives in several nations, including Bangladesh. Switzerland collaborates with its allies in Bangladesh to promote sustainable social and economic progress. To create a thriving, fair, and inclusive society, it works to improve market and employment conditions, as well as to support the rights and involvement of minorities, women, and young people. It is also helping Bangladesh to address the negative effects of climate change.
The SDC's programs in Bangladesh focus on several themes, such as:
1. Sustainable economic growth, which involves encouraging sustainable tourism, increasing agricultural output, and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.
2. Human rights and effective government, which involves the ability of governmental agencies and civil society groups to promote human rights and good governance.
3. Social security and health care, which involves supporting the growth of the healthcare industry, increasing access to high-quality healthcare, and providing social protection to vulnerable groups.
4. Climate change and disaster risk mitigation, which involves assisting with initiatives to reduce the risk of natural disasters and the effects of climate change.
