The Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MINTSS) is placed under the authority of a Minister.
The Minister of Labor and Social Security is responsible for the development and implementation of government policy in the areas of industrial relations, the status of workers and social security.
As such, it is responsible for:
the elaboration and implementation of the policy of welfare and social security;
monitoring the application of the Labor Code and international conventions ratified by Cameroon relating to labor;
liaison between the Government and trade unions and employers' organizations;
liaison with the institutions of the United Nations system and the African Union specialized in the field of labor, in conjunction with the Ministry of External Relations.
