The Dutch Tax and Customs Administration (Belastingdienst) is the government organisation responsible for imposing and collecting taxes on behalf of the state, and implementing various allowances and schemes for Dutch residents.
The Tax and Customs Administration employs almost 25,000 people. A large proportion of our employees have direct contact with citizens and companies. The rest of the employees work for the facility companies, group boards and corporate services within the Tax Authorities.
The Tax and Customs Administration is part of the Ministry of Finance. We do not only implement tax legislation. The FIOD is also part of the Tax and Customs Administration. We also have one of the largest ICT organizations in the country.
