Region Nordhordland intermunicipal company is owned by the municipalities of Alver, Austrheim, Fedje, Gulen, Masfjorden, Modalen, Osterøy and Vaksdal.

Region Nordhordland IKS (RNI) is the municipalities' cooperation body and tool for joint efforts in several large areas in the region. The company has its own board, but is also closely linked to the strategic body Regional Council Nordhordland, which is put together by the mayors from the eight owner municipalities.

The activities in Region Nordhordland IKS will contribute to the further development of business, public tasks, health and social and cultural life in the region.

The regional cooperation shall:

• Strengthen the quality of life for those who live in the region, and contribute to creating good lives with leisure, work and good health for the population.
• Strengthen the interaction between the region and the outside world.
• Economize public resource use.
• Contribute to development and environmental protection.
