We have been present in Mauritania since 2006, where we collaborate with state institutions as well as local and international partners. Save the Children Mauritania works through a rights-based approach for lasting change, acting on two main components: Child protection and improving the food and nutritional security of the most vulnerable populations.
Save the Children is an organization defending the rights of children and adolescents. It is part of a global movement that has the unique opportunity, as civil society, to contribute to ensuring that no child dies of preventable causes and that no child lives exposed to poverty or violence.
The systemic approach put in place aims to strengthen the architecture of children's rights and child protection in Mauritania and work to strengthen the institutional anchoring and the quality of Save the Children's interventions in Mauritania. Save the Children in Mauritania has the possibility of developing interventions of a sub-regional nature through the network of Save the Children International in West Africa, in countries where the problems of child protection are very similar.
