The Agency for territorial cohesion is an Italian public agency, supervised directly by the President of the Council of Ministers, which has the objective of supporting, promoting and accompanying programs and projects for development and territorial cohesion.
It was established pursuant to art. 10 of law decree 101/2013, acquiring part of the functions of the suppressed Department for economic development and cohesion.
The Agency provides support for the implementation of Community and national programming (2007-2013, 2014-2020 and 2021-2027 cycles), through accompanying actions to central administrations (ministries and ANPAL) and regional administrations holding operational programs and to beneficiary bodies of the same, as well as monitoring and verification of investments and support for the promotion and improvement of the planning and quality, timeliness, effectiveness and transparency of the planning and implementation of the interventions.
