Rožňava is a district town in Slovakia located in the Košice Region that got its name from an extremely profitable mine: Rosnoubana (Rozsnyóbánya, Rosenau). In its more than seven hundred years of history, Rožňava was predominantly associated with mining. The city's jewels include the Actores Municipal Theater, which is preparing the Tempus Art international festival in the fall. In winter, the oldest Mikuláš in Slovakia walks the streets of Rožňava on business.
