Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (South Korea)

The Seoul Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights was opened for the purpose of carrying out the mandate below. The organization and staff of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Seoul Office function independently and in accordance with UN principles.

• Contribute to accountability efforts in the country by strengthening human rights monitoring and recording in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
• Cooperate with and build capacity with relevant Member States, civil society organizations and other stakeholders.
• Maintain visibility of the human rights situation in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea through ongoing communication, advocacy and horizons expansion efforts.
