Description

The State Land Office (SPÚ) is an administrative office of the Czech Republic subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture. It is based in Prague and is an organizational component of the state and an accounting unit. The organization is one of the largest organizational components of the state in the department of agriculture. The State Land Office consists of the headquarters, regional land offices and their branches.

Scope and activities of the SPÚ: 

  • management and transfer of agricultural real estate
  • land development management
  • settlement of restitution claims
  • implementation of elements of common facilities (PSZ) - in particular, these are measures used to make land available, i.e. field or forest roads, as well as anti-erosion and water management measures to create and protect the environment. [5]

  • privatization of property with which he is authorized to manage
  • update of certified soil ecological units (BPEJ)
  • updating and management of the geodatabase of main drainage facilities (HOZ) and other water management facilities (pumping stations, irrigation systems, water reservoirs) and buildings managed by the SPÚ
  • activities related to the protection of the agricultural soil fund - participation in initiatives aimed at mitigating the negative impacts of climate change (interdepartmental group "WATER-DRY" or the project of the General Water Management of the Czech Republic)
  • Together with the Czech-Moravian Chamber for Land Development, it organizes the Joint Facility of the Year competition
