The village of Horní Lideč is located in a basin at the foot of the last spur of the White Carpathians, at the foot of the southwestern spur of the Javorníky Mountains (from Pulčín) and the southern ridge of the Vizovice Hills. The northeastern part of the cadastre lies on the southernmost edge of the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area.
The village is located 18 km south of Vsetín and is crossed by the road from Vsetín to Valašské Klobouky with branches to Francova Lhota, Střelná and Lačnov. The highest peak in the cadastre of the village is Díl (685 masl). The Senice river and its left-bank tributary Lačnovský potok flow through the village. The village has 1331 inhabitants.
Horní Lideč offers tourists and visitors to the village the possibility of a pleasantly spent vacation and active use of their free time in the newly opened Relaxation and Tourist Center, where there is also the possibility of accommodation and meals in the village restaurant. An attractive offer, which is a mechanical nativity scene, invites you to visit. It brings the visitor closer to the most interesting historical moments, events, customs, old original crafts as life in the region, on the Czech-Slovak border, developed over the centuries. During the film projection, the individual monuments of the nativity scene, which are discussed in the film at that moment, are illuminated. Captivating music, including accompanying words, completes the exceptional atmosphere of the Bethlehem story about the birth of Jesus. During the construction of the nativity scene, great emphasis was placed on creating an interesting space, but also a pleasant atmosphere that allows the viewer to experience a deep spiritual experience. This makes Bethlehem in Horní Lidča distinctive and extraordinary.
