The State Data Agency is an institution of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania that participates in the formation of state policy in the field of official statistics management assigned to the Minister of Finance and in the field of state data management, implements this policy and coordinates the preparation of official statistics in accordance with the provisions of Part I of the Official Statistics Program, and the processing of state data - in accordance with the State Data management program. in 2023 January 1 The Department of Statistics of Lithuania became the State Data Agency. The data collected in the institution is the most important source of information for the entire state. Data that is constantly updated and integrated between data sources of different institutions will become available to state institutions and decision-makers when solving issues important to the state. Through the State Data Management information system, more mature and quality and more detailed public sector data will be more useful for business, institutions and residents. Pursuant to the Law on Official Statistics and State Data Management of the Republic of Lithuania, the State Data Agency coordinates the activities of other institutions managing official statistics in the field of official statistics. The most important tasks of the State Data Agency are defined in the regulations of the State Data Agency.
