The Office of the Prime Minister (PMO) in Ethiopia is a cabinet-level government organization. Its responsibilities include overseeing all government agencies, including the Ministry of Peace, which itself monitors dozens of other government agencies. The PMO comprises several units, such as the Prime Minister’s Agenda Setting, Policy and Performance Management Units, Press Secretariat, National Security Department, Office of the First Lady, and the Republican Guard. The Republican Guard’s role is to protect the prime minister and other senior officials from security threats.
