Description
FIRCA is an organization established by Decree No. 2002-520 of December 11, 2002 and inspired by the provisions of Act No. 2001-635 of October 9, 2001 establishing the Agricultural Development Fund (FDA).
FIRCA is a funding agency for agricultural service delivery programs in all crop, forest and animal production sectors.
FIRCA is responsible for funding programs in the areas of crop, forestry and animal production including:
Agricultural and forestry research
Conducting experimentations and demonstrations for the transmission of knowledge between research and exploitation
Technological research for improved agricultural and processed products
Knowledge dissemination through information, demonstration, training, technical and economic advisory services
Conducting research, experimentation and assessment/expertise
Supporting the sustained improvement of the economic viability of farms
Strengthening the capacity of Professional Agricultural Organizations (PAO)
Vocational training of producers, managers of PAO and their staff.
