Description

Created in 1979, the Portuguese Committee for UNICEF is a non-governmental organization with the Public Utility Association Statute. It is part of the network of 34 UNICEF National Committees established in developed countries and part of UNICEF's global organization.

The Portuguese Committee for UNICEF has as its mission the promotion and defense of children's rights, sensitizing the public and policy makers about the rights of the child and in particular that the most disadvantaged and vulnerable children who continue to live in poverty, conflict or disaster, abused or exploited, do not fall into oblivion.

As UNICEF's representative and voice in Portugal, the Portuguese Committee for UNICEF works to raise funds for UNICEF's work, notably to finance programs for the development and action in emergency situations at global level and all its activity. in Portugal.
