Description

The Korea International Cooperation Agency(KOICA) was established as a government-funded agency dedicated to grant aid programs on April 1991. KOICA playing a pivotal role in carrying out Korea’s grant aid programs. With South Korea’s ever-increasing status on the global stage, the international community’s expectations for its role in solving international development problems are also growing. In response to these rising expectations, KOICA strives to respect international aid norms and establish best practices in development cooperation, thereby contributing to initiating a new era of ‘Happiness for All.’

KOICA has been implementing a comprehensive range of projects in over 100 countries across nearly all economic and social sectors including the development of rural communities, public health, education, public administration, climate change, energy, and industrial infrastructure. In addition, KOICA offers training and education opportunities to government officials and civic representatives from recipient countries. Utilizing KOICA as their shared platform, a great number of South Korean organizations, agencies, businesses, and individuals participate in this broad array of KOICA projects.
