Georgias Innovation and Technology Agency

The Agency participates in the private and public sector knowledge, innovation and commercialization of research results and promote innovative entrepreneurship. One of the important directions of the formation of information society projects and programs necessary for the management and coordination of the implementation of the uniform policy.

The Georgian Agency for Innovation and Technology’s goal is to create an effective system in Georgia whereby innovation and technology can be developed, as well as to promote the commercialization of innovative knowledge in order to incorporate the latest technologies into all economic sectors and to create the necessary platform for innovative development.

To achieve said goals, the agency endeavors to use its infrastructure in order to develop both innovation and technology, to focus on making the commercialization of Georgia’s innovation and technology development a priority, facilitate the growth of investment capital and encourage the participation of private businesses to increase research into the commercialization of innovations, and to establish effective processes needed to increase competitiveness, especially by promoting the use of distance learning. 

In order to complete its goals effectively, the Agency prioritizes investing in the development of the infrastructure needed for innovation, which has been demonstrated by the opening of technoparks, innovation centers and industrial laboratories. It also continuously strives to develop tools to support the commercialization of innovation and technology, to achieve a high rate of internet access across the country, to provide high quality training, and to provide incentives to encourage innovation and technology development.
