About
I possess over twenty four (24) years’ professional work experience as an Economist, Researcher, Policy Analyst, Public Sector Reforms/Governance and Anti-Corruption expert in the public sector. In the last 13 years (from 1st February 2007 to date), I have served at senior leadership and management level at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and its predecessor Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission (KACC).
From the work experience gained, I possess strong leadership, management and inter-personal abilities and skills – embracing and applying modern leadership methods and styles in driving performance and achieving goals and objectives set in my areas of professional engagements and for the organization. I have wide exposure locally and internationally which has equipped me with right knowledge, skills and attitude to work and interact with ease in multi-cultural, demanding and dynamic settings and environments, and to effectively manage conflicts and solve common problems.
I have delivered the follwing projects in the recent past at EACC:
- Strengthening systems of governance and service delivery (transparency, accountability, efficiency and effectiveness) in public bodies through systems reviews in over 10 national government institutions; Corruption Risk Assessments in over 20 Counties; and Corruption Prevention advice to over 300 public institutions under the Performance Contracting Framework
- Fostering and rallying public support in the fight against corruption and unethical practices in Kenya through intensive and extensive anti-corruption and ethics public education and awareness creation
- Establishment of the National Integrity Academy to provide specialized training and capacity development on anti-corruption, ethics and integrity in all sectors, in the region and beyond
- Entrenchment of value based anti-corruption and ethics Education in the Competency Based Curriculum of the formal Education system in Kenya
- Development of the National Ethics and Anti-Corruption Policy for Kenya
- Development of evidence based anti-corruption interventions through surveys and research on corruption, anti-corruption and ethics
- Development of the EACC Strategic Plans and monitoring frameworks
- Design and development of the Commission’s performance management systems
- Developing knowledge base, sharing lessons and experience in the fight against corruption through continuous monitoring, mid-term and end evaluation of the Commission strategies and programmes
- Forging partnerships and collaborations with key stakeholders – the Faith sector, Cooperative sector, professional bodies and the Kenya Leadership and Integrity Forum among others.
