About
I am an Expert and Consultant on International Health and Education. As a Senior Advisor to Governments, Project Director and lecturer, I have worked for 30 years in more than 50 countries in Europe, CIE, Africa, Asia, USA, for many UN specialised Agencies (UNESCO, UNICEF, UNDP, UNOPS, UNFPA, FAO), World Bank, European Union, USAID and some international NGOs. For the last 15 years, I have concentrated my activity on women\'s and adolescents’ reproductive and sexual health problems, HIV/AIDS prevention, gender issues, youth policies and promotion of healthy life styles. I have taken an active part in the social and behavioural changes and the alleviation of poverty around the world. Recently I conceptualised and implemented a unique, large-scale socio-anthropological study among more than 5,000 teenagers in Eastern Europe. As a result, the health-related educational needs of adolescents were identified and some 60,000 questions that had never been asked before, formulated, providing a large amount of information relating to young people’s critical problems from their own point of view. I am the author of the successful interactive book “Questions that have gone unanswered - all of which hangs on the teens”. Its third edition is now available in Russian with more than 100,000 copies issued; it helps adolescents to understand themselves better and at the same time, it assists adults in understanding young people and show them the best way to dialogue with mutual trust and respect. Versions in other languages are planned.
