About
Retired banker.
My life and career have been driven by a strong passion to break the arbitrary labels and stereotypes that hinders the achievement of a true social improvement.
With a grassroots development mindset, I am a dedicated international development practitioner with an expertise in Gender and Development.
Development, in my opinion, is a practice in social learning and the expansion of opportunities to promote local agency. I believe that any development project must be a bottom-up practice where any program promoting local empowerment should be contextualized to understand the particularities of the local sociocultural environment. In my work as a development practitioner I argue against labels and arbitrary categorizations that can be found in many International Development Organizations’ missions where the First World is saving the Third World. Change is not only local and owned by the people but also, a long term project.
