About
Randall Purcell is an independent strategic and technical advisor to the United Nations and other organizations, and adjunct professor at IE University in Madrid. Until leaving the United Nations in 2019, Randall was the World Food Programme’s Senior Advisor for the United Nation's 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda in New York. Prior to this, he managed WFP’s largest climate resilience programme in the drylands of Kenya, supporting more than 1 million people. He joined WFP as it’s Climate Change Advisor following 19 years at the World Bank where he worked on agriculture and food security issues and projects with a focus on water and environment. Randall has degrees in economics and public policy from Columbia University and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
