About
I am an experienced Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) specialist, with more than 20 years of experience in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe. I have a background in Agriculture with a Master in Agronomy from the University of Reading, UK and PhD in Sustainable Agricultural Development from the University of Wolverhampton, UK. Having risen through the ranks from agricultural research officer to programme officer, program development specialist and at advisory level, I am a quality and results-based leader, who aims at achieving objective, is impact oriented, effective, and efficient in community driven implementation. I have experience of managing projects at both consortium as well as operational level. I have implemented multi-sectorial programs from different donors in different contexts including emergencies. However, I have a bias in food security and livelihoods programming in development particularly in remote, deprived and marginalised rural areas. I have led FSL related assessments, developed proposals and implemented program. Key areas of specialty include agriculture, food security, livelihood interventions, seed production, cash transfer, Market analysis, Household Economy Analysis (HEA), small holder vegetable production, income generation activities, skill development and adolescent transitioning programme, farmer field schools, micro-enterprises, renewable energy, vocational training, vulnerable women income generating activities and village Savings & Loans Cooperatives. I have mentored and built the capacities of several teams that I have supervised. I have trained and conducted agriculture, food security, and livelihood interventions in development contexts. I ensure that elements of accountability, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), gender and protection of vulnerable groups including children, disabled and women are incorporated in programs. I am in Emergency Food Security & Vulnerable Livelihoods (EFSVL) Register of OXFAM to work in different missions as and when required.
