Ryan Schweitzer is an environmental engineer with twelve years’ experience in the environmental health sector working primarily on water and sanitation projects in both rural and urban areas. He has extensive experience designing and managing WASH projects and programmes with a balance of operational and strategic experience. He has worked at the grassroots level in low to middle income countries and has cultivated an understanding of the constraints facing communities and local government. Ryan also understands the global WASH institutional and financial landscape and has taken an active role in coordination bodies, technical oversight committees, advocacy groups, and strategic planning and decision making committees at the global and national level. Throughout his career he has represented private and public sector stakeholders as well as civil society actors, which has provided a breadth of perspectives.
