About
I am an active and practicing Professional Civil Engineer having 30+ years of experience; a registered professional engineer with License #0033542 since 1984.
Currently working as Senior Resident Engineer/Acting Team Leader for Sheladia Associates Inc since Nov 2015 to present.
I am an expert in Roads and Bridge Design with extensive hands-on experience working with US-based consultants in East Africa, Central Asia, Middle East and Pacific Islands.
I was in various countries as Bridge and Infrastructure Specialist for an USAID, World Bank, and ADB-Funded projects, with tasks ranging from design to project implementation and supervision. I also conducted capacity building and assisted government agencies and clients in the field of Infrastructure, Roads, Bridges, and Flood Controls.
I managed the Civil Engineering Department and as Senior Civil and Structural Engineer with the Government of Eritrea for seven years under multi-donor funding, which I oversaw engineering efforts from several disciplines - Structural Design, Roads and Bridges, Building Design, Airports, Dams and Irrigation
I managed Japanese-funded Projects on behalf of Afghan Project Management Office, Afghanistan Ministry of Public Works and Japanese Social Development Fund in 2005-2006, the project undertaken by United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Kabul, Afghanistan.
In the aftermath of Tsunami, I worked in some islands of Indonesia devastated by the calamity, as Project Manager for Nippon Koei under UNICEF’s Post-tsunami Rehabilitation Project.
It’s my enthusiasm about civil engineering works that I always incorporate capacity building/mentoring in all of my assignments, which I personally conducted professional lectures (classroom environment) to senior engineering staff of Ministry of Infrastructure and to those new graduate engineers (i.e. interns).
